Farewell Bend, as it was once known, has come a long way since settlers named the picturesque city in Central Oregon. The name was later changed simply to “Bend” by the U.S. Postmaster who felt the name was too long. Bend has grown from a simple lumber settlement, to the thriving and vibrant urban center it is today with a rich cultural life.
